About me
Ashleigh Rankin, LCSW
I believe all of us desire deep and meaningful relationships above all else, however, sometimes our past, patterns/habits, traumas, and fears get in the way of these relationships. As a child of divorce, continuous moving of homes and schools, I learned early the importance of creating meaningful relationships. As a Christian, I have also learned that our personal struggles become the greatest source of growth and character development in our faith.
Working with couples is a source of great joy for me. Couples who desire to fix the brokenness and persevere through life’s greatest blessing and challenge is exactly who I desire to work with. After experiencing what seemed like endless dating and the pain of being the last one of my friends and family to marry, then difficulty having a baby and a proclivity towards people- pleasing, I am now thankful to God for the amazing husband he brought me and our two precious children.
My strengths and expertise as a therapist are my ability to put people at ease, enjoy the process no matter how challenging and to understand the core issues very quickly. As a Christian counselor, I adhere to biblical teachings as the foundation for my practice. I’m wildly empathetic, like to find laughter and joy in everyday life, and have brought with me from previous jobs, a wealth of knowledge in the areas of professional development, inter-personal communication and effectiveness, and marriage and couples therapy. My background is Faith based as well as couples and marriage counseling, adult attachment theories, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), the enneagram and leadership coaching to help clients achieve their goals through counseling. You do not need to be a Christian or even Faith based, I work with a variety of clients from all faith backgrounds and will be respectful of your views.
